This mural on Kalymnosdreef in Overvecht is a work of art in honor of De Stijl's centenary. The project aims to bring, art movement, De Stijl to the attention of a wider audience outside the museum.

Walk along the most unique murals in Utrecht with this route!

This mural is the first work in the 'Dutch Masters' series, an initiative of the Centraal Museum and Utrecht Marketing. To give Utrecht Masters more publicity and to bring art to the neighborhoods outside the city center, the 'Strakke Hand' painters' collective realized this enormous mural, among other things. This is the Lute Player by Dirck van Baburen (1622).

At the intersection of Croeselaan and Van Zijstweg, a gigantic mural of 190 square meters of illustrator Munir de Vries can be admired.  
Children, young people, the elderly, and local entrepreneurs contributed their ideas and efforts, making the renewed mural truly reflect the community spirit of the neighborhood. The workspace for this creative process, the Croese Keet, became a gathering point where residents came together to share ideas and lend a helping hand.

Mural Croeselaan

At the intersection of the Croeselaan with the Van Zijstweg, a gigantic mural of 190 square meters can be admired.

This mural is the second work in the 'Dutch Masters' series, an initiative of the Centraal Museum and Utrecht Marketing. In order to raise awareness of Utrecht Masters and to bring art to the neighborhoods outside the center, the Strakke Hand painters' collective realized this enormous mural. A twelve meter high and 11 meter wide painting: 'Sleeping Mars' by Hendrick ter Brugghen (1629) on a facade at Westplein. This location is near the central station.

This mural was designed by Jos Peeters. With this mural, the artist wants to portray the history of the Daalsebuurt. The mural can be admired on the side of a house on the 1e Daalsedijk.

On the corner of Otterstraat and Oudenoord you'll find the mural with the name “Otter with Dom Tower”. Since 2013, a life-sized work of art featuring an otter has graced the facade of the building on the corner of Otterstraat in Utrecht. Not only the animal, but also the Dom Tower and a hot air balloon can be seen on the famous mural. The work was made in 2013 by the Utrecht artist Robert-Jan Brink, also known as the Verfdokter. He was inspired by earlier works of art on the wall and decided to combine everything in one large, colorful work. De Verfdokter has made several murals in Utrecht, including those of the famous green trains in the Tweede Daalsebuurt.

This mural by De Verfdokter is located on the corner of Otterstraat and Oudenoord.

This mural is the work of Jan Heinsbroek, JanIsDeMan. Heinsbroek thinks it is important that his artwork gives a positive feeling. “One is proud of his origins, the other is for FC Utrecht; if everyone can be involved in their own way, I am happy ”, says Heinsbroek.
A remarkable fact about this mural is that the artist proposed to his own wife here in a very special way: a meter-high mural with the question "Dear Afra, will you marry me?" After this, this mural was repainted with this new work. Unfortunately nothing can be seen anymore of the marriage proposal.

Heinsbroek, Jan is de Man, spent three full days painting this text.

At the initiative of the Utrecht artist Lisette Jansen, 15 students from Nimeto Utrecht set to work on a mural on Grietstraat. The mural shows four different birds, namely a godwit, a kivite, a quail and a turtle dove. Besides these birds, the landscapes and the rivers in which they live are depicted.
