Singel loop – 6 km
The ‘Singel’, a tree-lined canal encircling the city centre, is a favourite walk for locals looking to unwind. This route takes you the full length of the leafy canal, past historic buildings and inviting cafés and restaurants.
Utrecht Lumen – 3 km
Discover Utrecht at night! When daylight fades and darkness descends, Utrecht Lumen’s illuminated tales of the city come to life. Walk the art-filled route at your own pace or join a guided tour to learn more.

Dutch Railways walk Beukenburg – 13.4 km
Dutch Railways not only operates trains but also offers a selection of scenic walks from station to station. Want to combine the cityscape and countryside? Hop on the train to Bilthoven and enjoy nature from the very first step. This route takes you through areas of natural beauty, past a lake and back to Dom Tower along the elegant Maliebaan avenue.
Amelisweerd – 3.6 or 7 km
Just a stone’s throw from central Utrecht, the historic Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen estates are a much-loved walking area for locals in need of some time out. Choose from different walking trails to match your mood and energy levels and enjoy a blend of heritage and nature. Along the way, there are several cafés and restaurants where you can catch your breath and admire the scenery.

Botanic Gardens
Utrecht University’s Botanic Gardens are the perfect place to experience autumn in all its glory. Wander along winding paths as you discover trees and plants showing off their most colourful side before winter arrives. A beautiful setting for a brisk and brightly coloured stroll.
