Brouwerij Oproer

On January 11, 2021 there was a fire in the CAB building where the Oproer Brewery was located. Unfortunately, the brewery was completely destroyed by the fire. Visit oproerbrouwerij.nl for more information.

Brouwerij Oproer is a brewery from Utrecht with a café and a vegetable restaurant. Oproer cares about good, well-balanced, flavorful beers. Mark Strooker is co-owner of Oproer together with Bart-Jan Hoeijmakers. The name refers to the peaceful revolution that the entrepreneurs want to bring about: showing that things can be done differently - with a focus on people, the environment, animals and beer. Mark Strooker: "The spent grain, a by-product of the brewing process, partly goes to a farmer in the area. He feeds it to his cattle. From the other part we bake bread for the restaurant. We reuse the cooling water for brewing beer, our Biergarten is made from leftover pallets and our restaurant is purely vegetable. Just like our beer. "

At Brouwerij Oproer you can also enjoy small tasty vegan dishes. The menu is regularly updated, so you can taste something new every time. The ingredients for the dishes are purchased from local farmers.
